I had the pleasure of illustrating another fashion style feature for Auxiliary Magazine, this time with a “Halloween Queen” theme for the Fall 2021 issue. I think this may be my favorite of these features that I’ve illustrated so far!
For my model inspirations I chose the beautifuly vampiric Dani Divine and couldn’t resist referencing one of my modeling images for the other figure. The orange hair seemed very fitting for the theme!
I illustrated the style feature for the latest Summer 2021 issue of Auxiliary Magazine. The theme was “Vamp Resort”. I went with a gothic pinup style, with models Masuimi Max and Stefania Ferrario as inspiration for the figures.

I did a few illustrations for a double page fashion/style feature in the Spring 2021 issue of Auxiliary Magazine that was just released this week. I also got featured in the Contributor Spotlight section which was a lovely surprise!
I went with a simpler, more graphic drawing style for these to focus on capturing the “Lunar Fae” themed clothing and accessories. Thanks once again to Jennifer Link at Auxiliary for giving me free reign and trusting me with drawing things that are a little different to my personal artwork. Though there are definitely some crossover elements!

Ending this year on a more positive note, I have a 6 page interview/feature in the Winter 2020 issue of Auxiliary Magazine! Though it’s more of a “modeling news” being that it’s accompanied by a fashion editorial I modeled for rather than any illustrations, I wanted to post about it here too as they did ask several questions focused on my artwork and creative influences and I thought it might be of interest! I wrote a more in-depth blog post about it on my modeling website HERE, which includes my intention to go back to writing longer form blog posts about my work and a little glimpse into my life too. This site will be art-focused with peeks at works-in-progress and my work process. I’ve opened comments on both blogs and also added an RSS feed. If you’re out there and reading I’d love to hear from you!
Has it really been 6 months since my last update? This has been a strange and largely unproductive year and I have been taking a long break from making art but I had to come out of my hiatus on posting as I realized I hadn’t shared this last thing I worked on. Auxiliary Magazine contacted me back at the very beginning of the pandemic to ask if I’d be interested in creating something for an illustrated fashion editorial as in-person photoshoots had not been possible and of course I was delighted at the opportunity to work with them in my capacity as an artist.
They happen to be one of my favorite indie publications and I have been featured several times as a model in previous issues, including the cover of April/May 2012 and more recently in one of my favorite editorials ever - “Alien Botany” in the Spring 2016 issue - for artist and designer Zoetica Ebb (who also happens to be the cover model of this new issue!).
It was a new challenge for me as I’ve never drawn anything that could be considered a fashion illustration and there was also a pretty quick turnaround time required but it was a great learning experience and I’m quite happy with the results. I got a print copy of the magazine recently and it looks even better in print!
Special shout out to Razor Candi, who provided much inspiration for the model I drew. I had recently joined her Patreon and had a lot of sketches based on her that I ended up adapting for the illustrations. Thanks also to Jennifer Link for help with the mood/board and styling (and for trusting me to do something I’ve never done before!).
